Conflicting Skype

Skype is known to cause IIS (Internet Information Services) to malfunction / not start

• Skype has a function that uses port 80 as an alternative route for communication.
  This port is required by IIS (Internet Information Services).
• The autostart function of Skype is also known to cause IIS not to start properly.

To resolve port 80 usage of Skype do the following:

1. Open Skype
2. Go to Tools -> Options
3. Click on Advanced
4. Click on Connection
5. Uncheck the option "Use port 80 and 433 as alternatives for incoming connections"
6. Click Save

To resolve potential Skype startup causing problem do the following:

1. Open Skype
2. Go to Tools -> Options
3. Click on General
4. Click on General Settings
5. Uncheck the option: "Start Skype when I start Windows"
