 ReInstallation of EpiHandy Server

NOTE! The EpiHandy Server consists of many different components that are required to function properly together.

When doing a reinstallation it is therefore extremely important to cleanup the previous installation before doing it again.

There are 3 version of this procedure, depending on the severity of the problem.

Quick

The quick version can be used if you already have uninstalled the server and the installation failed the first time. Reason could be that a file exists that SQL Server is not able to handle.

1. Turn off all running software while performing the reinstallation.
a. This includes Antivirus software, Skype, etc. etc.
b. For skype make sure it is not set to use port 80 (advanced settings)

2. Uninstall software components
a. Go to: -> Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
b. EpiHandy – Server
c. EpiHandy – MobileClient Installer Tool
d. EpiHandy – StudyManager

3. Restart your computer

5. Move potentially blocking SQL Server files
a. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the following folder: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$EPIHANDY\DATA
c. RENAME all files in that folder starting with distribution to i.e. olddistribution

6. Reinstall EpiHandy – Server

7. Reinstall EpiHandy – StudyManager

8. Reinstall EpiHandy – MobileClient Installer Tool
